Trigger Point Pilates
Trigger Point Pilates®, created by Lydia Campbell, combines Pilates core moves with trigger point release to help alleviate chronic pain conditions using equipment.
The class is designed to release tight muscles, enhance functional daily movement and restructure the body.
The programme helps to release the body from inside out. It targets the connective tissue, fascia, that surrounds every muscle and joint enabling participants to move with ease, release painful conditions, and improve functional movement.
Fascia is the connective tissue that is spread throughout our bodies. Quite regularly, this tissue becomes tight, stressed and irritated. This can lead to pain in any part of the body.
Trigger Point Pilates classes help relieve these issues. It works for everyone, whatever their age, activity or level of fitness.
You will learn simple exercises that you can do at home.
Equipment is used in class to release and realign the body.
You will need:
- Long foam roller or large rolled up towel
- 2 prickle balls or 2 tennis balls
- One bender ball or cushion
- One long, light resistance band or pair of tights
- Small towel
